November Revolution 1918

​

November 1918 broke out in Germany a social and political revolution and led to the birth of the Soviet Republic. The number 18 of the academic journal “links” aims at exploring the literary, philosophical and theoretical effects of this particular German revolution on the relationship between literature and politics, the politicization of art, the social and theoretical goals of artistic avant-garde. The rich artistic and cultural production of the Weimar Republic is based on the fact that the masses, with their political and trade organizations, have become the protagonists of the historical and social events, but they have also become consumer of old and new cultural products. Political revolution, with its utopias and failures, has produced a mass culture, the politicization of art or, on the other hand, art as entertainment, but above all has spread the new media (cinema and radio) that have at the same time become opinion makers and diffusers of artistic products. The German literature and culture of the 1920s and 1930s was characterized by utopian hopes of palingenetic revolution and representations of miseries and social injustices in terms of realism or experimentalism.

The proposals, in English (maximum 300 words), should be sent to the address: links.rivista@gmail.com or to the editor of the journal, Mauro Ponzi, mauro.ponzi@uniroma1.it, by November 30th, 2017.
The editorial committee will evaluate the abstracts and convey to the authors the papers that have been accepted for “links” 18. Authors shall receive positive or negative response before December 30th, 2017. They should then sent their contribution by February 28th, 2018.

“Links” is a peer review journal Links and hence the essays will be subject to the evaluation of anonymous referees.
Contributions can be written in English, German, French or Italian and should not exceed 35.000 characters.

Timing:

• -  The abstract in English (maximum 300 words) should be sent by November 30th, 2017

• -  The editorial committee will communicate which essays will be considered by December 30th, 2017

• -  The authors have to send the essays (max. 35.000 characters) by February 28th, 2018

• -  The referee’s evaluation will be communicate by April 15th, 2018

• -   Closing: June 1st, 2018

November Revolution 1918

 

Nel novembre del 1918 è scoppiata in Germania, sul modello della rivoluzione bolscevica del 1917, la rivoluzione che ha portato alla nascita della Repubblica dei Consigli degli operai e dei contadini.

Il numero 18 della rivista “links” si occupa degli effetti letterari, filosofici e teorico-artistici di questa specifica rivoluzione tedesca con tutte le implicazioni sul rapporto tra letteratura e politica, sulla politicizzazione dell’arte, sulle ambizioni delle avanguardie artistiche. La rigogliosa produzione artistico-culturale della Repubblica di Weimar si fonda sul fatto che le masse, con le loro organizzazioni politiche e sindacali, sono diventate protagoniste degli eventi, ma sono diventate anche fruitrici dei prodotti culturali vecchi e nuovi. La rivoluzione politica, con le sue utopie e i suoi fallimenti, ha prodotto una cultura di massa, la politicizzazione dell’arte o, per contro, l’arte come intrattenimento, ma soprattutto ha diffuso i nuovi mezzi di comunicazione (cinema e radio) che sono diventati nel contempo produttori di consenso politico e mezzi di esposizione di prodotti artistici. La letteratura tedesca degli anni Venti e Trenta è stata caratterizzata da utopiche speranze di rivoluzioni palingenetiche e rappresentazioni di miserie e ingiustizie sociali in termini di crudo realismo o di sperimentalismo.

Si invitano coloro che si sono occupati dell’argomento a proporre un saggio per “links”, inviando un abstract in inglese di max. 300 parole entro il 30 novembre 2017 all’indirizzo della redazione, links.rivista@gmail.com e del direttore della rivista, mauro.ponzi@uniroma1.it.

Il comitato editoriale della rivista valuterà gli abstracts e comunicherà agli autori entro il 30 dicembre 2017 quali sono i saggi accettati. La consegna dei contributi è prevista per il 28 febbraio 2018.
"Links" è una rivista peer review e i saggi saranno quindi sottoposti alla valutazione di referees anonimi. Come è noto i saggi possono essere scritti in inglese, tedesco, francese, italiano e non devono superare le 35.000 battute (spazi inclusi).

• -  Chiusura del numero: 1 giugno 2018
